The ingredients are relatively basic, yet produce a taste which is far from basic. There are four groups in the class and each group's soup was distinctly unique, depending on the type of tomato used, the amount of each item used, and the various seasoning used.
Start:
| Basic Ingredients: watermelon, heirloom tomato, cucumber, red onion, dill, olive oil, jalapeno, and sherry vinegar. |
Finale:
| Watermelon Gazpacho garnished with cucumber, watermelon, dill, and red onion. |
This was a thoughtful, productive, and hands on learning class. While my initial interest in attending the class was to become exposed to blogging, I found the cooking component to be equally enriching.
Chef Brian used his professional experience to plan each class tailored to the class' ability and time constraints. I loved how he took the time to give some background on either a specific technique or some interesting food fact related to the recipe of the day.
Capturing pictures to incorporate into a blog gave concrete value to the cooking experience which can be shared with the world.
This was a perfect blend of how to marry two new skills to explore and share.
Thanks Chef Brian, Kevin, Maria, and Brenda!!
